ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. asked the Department of Education (DepEd) Angeles City Division to investigate the violence involving students at the Francisco G. Nepomuceno Memorial High School (FGNMHS) recently.
The school violence was recorded on video and posted on social media on August 20, 2019. The social media post went viral eliciting calls for a thorough investigation.
In Memorandum No 382, s-2019 sent to City Schools Division Superintendent Leilani Cunanan dated August 23, 2019, Mayor Lazatin said: “We would like to request DepEd Angeles City to provide feedback to the Angeles City LGU, through the Office of the Mayor, on the findings of the investigation.”
“Schools should be a safe haven for our children and the Angeles City Local Government will not tolerate bullying or any other form of violence in our schools.”
