ANGELES CITY, Philippines – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on February 10, 2025, recognized the Angeles City Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) – Male Dormitory and its members for their achievements in the 4th Quarter Gawad Penolohiya 2024. Certificates of recognition and cash incentives were awarded during a ceremony at the Mayor’s Office.

The Angeles City BJMP – Male Dormitory received five unit-level awards, including 2nd place among Jail Units under Category A for excellence in implementing the Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) Program and 3rd place in quarterly livelihood product sales for the 4th Quarter of 2024. The dormitory was also recognized for having the Top 3 Best Selling Product (Rattan Products), being the Best MSEC Unit, and forming the Best STAR Team.
In addition to the unit awards, Mayor Lazatin also honored individual BJMP personnel for their exceptional contributions. JO3 Baby Diana Pineda was recognized as Rank 1st among Female Jail Non-Officer Rank and Best Skills Enhancement Program Officer. Other awardees included JO2 Marvin Badongen (Best Investigator Officer), JO1 Zaldy A. Geronimo Jr. (Best Paralegal Officer), JO1 Marissa Balanban (Best Livelihood Program Officer), JO1 Allen Brix Madriga (Best Jail Nurse), JO1 Camille Ann Romero (Best Searcher), JO1 Jawee David Simbul (Best ALS Implementer), and JO1 Roldan Memeg (Best Help Desk Officer).
The Gawad Penolohiya is a prestigious recognition that highlights outstanding contributions in the field of correctional management. Mayor Lazatin commended the BJMP personnel for their dedication to service and commitment to rehabilitation programs, underscoring the city’s support for their continued efforts in correctional excellence.
