MEXICO, Pampanga – Local candidates in Mexico, Pampanga, vowed to uphold clean, honest, and peaceful elections as they gathered for a unity walk and peace covenant signing on Wednesday, February 28. Sta. Monica parish priest Rev. Fr. Arnie Serrano led the pledge, joined by incumbent Mayor Ruding Gonzales, mayoralty aspirant Arch. Alex Tumang, and fellow candidates Lenin Canda, Red Salas, and Edwin Pangilinan. The event highlighted the candidates’ commitment to ensuring a fair and orderly electoral process.


Officials from various government agencies, including Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal, municipal election officer Lhen Yalung, municipal local government operation officer Rowena Ocampo, Mexico police chief Lt. Col. Pearl Joy Gollayan, and representatives from the Philippine Army and Bureau of Fire Protection, witnessed the signing. Their presence reinforced the importance of collaboration in maintaining peace and security as the local elections draw near.
