Miriam College unveils Maryknoll marker at CSMC

Miriam College (MC) unveiled its Maryknoller marker at Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) sponsored by MC Grade School Class of 1991 and High School Class of 1995 and coordinated by MC Alumni Engagement Office.

CSMC President and CEO Raul C. Pagdanganan welcomed MC administrators and alumnae donors, expressed gratitude, and recognized the Maryknoll Sisters’ role in CSMC’s history of “unwavering work for education and health care and in keeping the spirit of the mission alive.”

The event included an opening prayer led by Leah Czarina Guevarra (MCHS ’95), Campus Ministry Office head in MC, and a Maryknoll historical overview by MC President Ambassador Laura Q. Del Rosario, who shared that “the healing mission and the generosity of the Maryknoll sisters go beyond death.” Dr. Kristine Marie Lesaca-Saludes (GS ’91, HS ’95), Principal of MC Grade School, represented the sponsoring classes and conveyed appreciation for their generosity and commitment to preserving MC’s legacy.

Mr. Pagdanganan, Ambassador Del Rosario, Sr. Marvie Misolas of the Maryknoll sisters, and Dr. Lesaca-Saludes unveiled the marker, which Fr. Gerardo Reyes, CSMC Chaplain, blessed. MC High School Principal Sofia Soledad D.G. De Guzman (MCHS ’95) took part in the order of the blessing of the Maryknoll marker that highlighted MC and CSMC’s enduring bond.

After unveiling the Maryknoll marker, MC and CSMC formalized a partnership to provide discounted medical services to the Miriam community.

Capping the event, the sponsoring classes received a Certificate of Donation and Certificate of Appreciation from MC.

Miriam College is a premier women’s Catholic educational institution founded by the Maryknoll Sisters of New York in 1926. It offers academic programs at the basic and tertiary levels at its main Quezon City campus. Its growing MC Nuvali branch in the province of Laguna currently offers basic education to boys and girls while its third campus in Porac, Pampanga is underway.
