MNA 2024 pre-pageant glows with charm, wit, beauty, and creativity

The Mutya Ning Angeles (MNA) 2024 Pre-Pageant Night captivated audiences with charm, wit, beauty, and creativity during the swimsuit and gown competitions, held at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

The stage came alive with energy as Marilou Tayag, also known as DJ LJ, and actor JC De Vera, a Beautéderm Ambassador, hosted the event, bringing excitement to the audience throughout the night.

Unified Effort

The MNA pageant, a flagship project of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., is co-presented for the fifth consecutive year by Beautéderm Corporation, led by President and CEO Rei Anicoche-Tan. The success of the event was made possible by the collective efforts of various city offices, including Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Anneleen Sugui – Angeles City Tourism Office; Irish Bonus-Llego – AC Economic Development Investment Promotions Office; Francis De Guzman – Nutrition Office; Michael Lising – Tourist Auxiliary; Mina Cabiles – Gender and Development Office; Rudy Simeon – Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Arnel San Pedro – City Information Office; Senior Staff / Salapungan Kagawad Anne Salonga; along with department heads, city councilors, and barangay officials.

Swimsuit, Evening Gown Showdown

The pre-pageant night provided the candidates with an opportunity to showcase their elegance and style in both the swimsuit and evening gown competitions, emphasizing the artistry and innovation of the city’s fashion designers.

The MNA candidates turned heads in blush pink and red swimwear, designed by the talented Frederick Policarpio.

They also mesmerized the audience in elegant Filipiniana gowns, crafted by the gifted local designers Rosette Ramos-Biag, Frederick Policarpio, and Marlon Tuazon.

A captivating ceremonial glimpse of the current titleholder, MNA 2023 Genica Cruz of Barangay Cutcut, as she gracefully showcased her red evening gown. She will compete in the Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2024 on December 10 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The top candidates from each segment will be revealed at the coronation, raising anticipation for the grand event.

Beauty Across Barangays

The MNA 2024 candidates represent a diverse cross-section of Angeles City, proudly showcasing the beauty and pride of their respective barangays. Representing Lourdes Sur is Katrina Paula Miranda, while Reigne Alessandra hails from Malabanias. Maria Aebhelle Sunga represents Cutcut, Eingel Lumbang is from Sapangbato, and Shane Mallari is from Pulung Cacutud. Angel Joy Subalisid brings pride to Mining, and Althea Gonzales represents Sta. Teresita. Additional candidates include Sophia Wingco from Pandan, Irish Mae David Manansala from Balibago, Marchel Ravin Santos from Lourdes Sur East, and Kate Sison from Sapalibutad. Jamila Colleen Rael represents Tabun, Julie Ann Calaguas is from Sta. Trinidad, and Almae Bulanadi hails from Lourdes Northwest. Completing the impressive roster are Shauntal Claudio of Margot, Trizz De Leon from Cuayan, Clarisse Dumlao from Capaya, Mhikaella Vianca De Guzman from Pampang, and Louise Jayne Paras from Cutud. Finally, Hanna Mae Lorega of Sto. Cristo, Arielle Maritoni Dizon Cabatana of San Jose, and Allyson Arceo Hetland of Pandan round out this group of exceptional women, each embodying the city’s charm and beauty as they compete for the MNA 2024 crown.

The Judges

The distinguished panel of judges for the MNA pre-pageant featured a prestigious lineup, including Augusto Oji Sanchez, Chief Strategic Communications and Events Officer of Clark International Airport Corporation; Donna Ravina, President of the Hotels and Restaurants Association of Pampanga; Mich Viray, Fashion Designer of Casa Moda; Mark Allen Sison, President of the Central Luzon Media Association Pampanga; and Noel Tulabut, President of the Pampanga Press Club.

Showcasing Talents

Five exceptional performers took center stage during the Pre-Pageant Night, leaving a lasting impression on both the audience and judges. The talented MNA contestants included Shauntal Ryne Claudio from Margot, Kate Sison from Sapalibutad, Angel Joy Subalisid from Mining, Irish Manansala from Balibago, and Allyson Hetland from Pandan.

On November 6, 2024, at the Systems Plus College Foundation, 21 out of 22 candidates displayed their skills in the talent competition.

Pillars of the Crown

Throughout the year, Mayor Lazatin has commended the efforts of the MNA committee, chaired by Reina Manuel and IC Calaguas, with ACTO Consultant Cecille Flores-Sanchez and committee members Frederick Policarpio, Rosette Ramos-Biag, Marlon Tuazon, Poklong Guina, Marna Dagumboy-Del Rosario, and G.R. Esguerra. Their hard work has been instrumental in the success of the pre-pageant events, setting the stage for an unforgettable coronation.

Coronation Night, Grand Prizes Await

The eagerly anticipated MNA coronation night is scheduled for November 28, 2024, at the Grand Palazzo Royale, where the grand winner will take home an impressive ₱2 million prize package. The city government is sponsoring ₱1.5 million, while Beautéderm Corporation is contributing ₱500,000, which includes ₱150,000 in cash and ₱350,000 worth of products and BeautéHaus services. Additional cash prizes will be awarded to the runners-up: ₱200,000 for First Runner-Up, ₱150,000 for Second Runner-Up, ₱100,000 for Third Runner-Up, and ₱50,000 for Fourth Runner-Up.
