Morale of CL police still high amid pandemic

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Morale of Central Luzon police is still high amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I could say that their morale is still high, as they are supported by the Regional Director [Police BGen. Val De Leon] and the PNP Chief [Police General Camilo Cascolan],” Police Regional Public Information Office Chief PLtCol. Soledad Elefanio said.

She disclosed that about 1,113 police are still deployed in a total of 75 joint quarantine checkpoints.

“Our police officers who are working in the frontlines are following the standard health requirements against the virus. They were provided with face masks, face shields, and alcohol,” Elefanio shared.

Meanwhile, she disclosed that the Philippine National Police (PNP) has started the Localization Program, a marching order of transferring personnel to their home provinces.

This is meant to boost the morale of the police officers, and urge them to do their best in performing their duty as law enforcers in their respective provinces.

“This is an adjustment done by the police. Those who were stationed away from their provinces could avail this program to be assigned near or at the area of their residence so they will be able to be with their families. That is a way of showing them that we care for them,” she said.

However, she clarified that the program is a 1:1 transfer with proper swapping of personnel. It is optional and those who want to avail should undergo pre-qualification.
