A PNP personnel assigned in Morong, Bataan was killed recently in Barangay Sta. Maria, Licab, Nueva Ecija.
Nueva Ecija PNP identified the victim as Police Senior Master Sergeant Rodel Umengan, 40, a resident of the said village in Licab, Nueva Ecija. He was assigned in Morong MPS as chief investigator.
Initial report stated that Umengan was shot by unidentified gunman while he was sitting inside a tricycle at around 6 p.m., last Thursday.
He was rushed by witnesses at a nearby hospital where he later expired.
Bataan Police Director, Police Col. Jesus Rebua personally visited the victim’s wake and promised to look deeper into the said case.
The local police and Bataan PPO are still conducting follow-up investigation to know and solve the motive behind the said crime. (
