A multi-million investment scammer was arrested by operatives of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) in Barangay Pagala Baliuag, Bulacan on Monday.
PCol Lawrence Cajipe, Provincial Director, Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) identified the suspect as Ma. Lea Ulang, 29, single, businesswoman and resident of Barangay Layunan Binangonan, Rizal.
Based on the report of PMaj Jansky Andrew Jaafar, Bulacan Intelligence Chief, the suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Mario B Capelan of RTC Malolos City, Branch 1 for the crime of Estafa dated August, 2020.Moreover, when one of the suspect’s victim identified as Rosemarie Guerero, saw on facebook the arrest of the suspect, she immediately went to Bulacan PPO and lodge a complaint. The victim averred that she and some others were persuaded by the suspect to put up their money in an investment which turned out to be fraudulent. Some P13 million were taken from them by the suspect.
The arrested suspect is temporarily placed under custody of PIU, Bulacan PPO for proper disposition, while additional criminal complaints will be filed against her in court.Amid the Covid 19 pandemic Bulacan police is no let up in all its anti-crime drive to arrest criminals, these scammers who take advantage of the situation by victimizing innocent civilians of their hard earned money. “We will be filing air tight case against the suspect and make sure that she will be put behind bars and justice is serve to her victims,” said Col. Cajipe.
