ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – The suspect in the killing of a lash and nail artist last July in Barangay Lourdes Sur East is now under police custody, following an intensive manhunt and coordination among law enforcement units.
In a statement, Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) director Police Colonel Joselito Villarosa Jr. said the suspect voluntarily surrendered after being located in Iloilo. His apprehension was the result of sustained monitoring by the authorities.
The suspect was presented to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, who reportedly played an active role in facilitating the investigation and locating the suspect.
“We thank Mayor Jon Lazatin for his direct support, which significantly helped expedite the suspect’s arrest,” Villarosa said.
Mayor Lazatin, for his part, expressed appreciation for the swift response of the police, adding that justice must be served for the victim and her family.
The identity of the suspect has not yet been disclosed, pending further investigation.
