Mylyn vows support for San Fernando’s marginalized sectors, small businesses

City of San Fernando — Mayoral candidate Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab has promised to support poor communities and small businesses if she wins in the May 12 elections.

She said her plans include helping sidewalk vendors, flea market sellers, and market stall owners. She wants to create programs that will improve their livelihoods and make sure they are not left behind.

Pineda-Cayabyab also said she will find ways to provide decent and safe homes for poor families in the city.

She denied rumors that she plans to remove vendors or demolish homes.

“There is no truth to the claims that I will evict people, displace vendors, or ban jeepneys and tricycles,” she said. “These are lies being spread to scare people during the election.”

She also said she has no plans to fire city hall workers. Instead, she wants to support them.

“Our city employees already know the system well,” she said. “We need them to start working on our projects right away. We will help them improve their skills, update their credentials and find permanent positions.”

Pineda-Cayabyab spoke directly to voters in Filipino:
“Nandito po ako para tumulong, hindi para manggipit at mamerwisyo. Muli po, uso ang fake news at paninira ngayong halalan. Huwag po basta-basta maniwala.”

She encouraged the people of San Fernando to vote wisely and not believe in false information.
