NCIP, partners provide aid to 3,040 IP households in Aurora

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — About 3,040 Indigenous Peoples households in Aurora received food and other relief assistance from National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and partners amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Personnel from the Provincial Office in Baler and two Community Service Centers in Calabgan and Dingalan coordinated with concerned local government units including the provincial government so that it would reach far-flung Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC) of Ilongot, Dumagat, Alta and Agta.

“We are working hand-in-hand with every Tribal Council through Chieftains and the duly selected Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives from the barangay, municipal and provincial level for sharing and updating of vital information to and from different ICCs in the province,” NCIP Regional Director Ruben Bastero said.

Resolution No. 41 of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases placed the provinces of Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales as well as the cities of Angeles and Olongapo under General Community Quarantine from June 1-15.
