CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The newly installed Regional Director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Office III has assured Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda that he will prioritize the peace and order situation in Pampanga.
Chief Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel bared this in the recent Joint Provincial/City/Municipal Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council Meeting held at Kingsborough International Convention Center (KICC).
The new Regional Director mentioned that he will continue what Former Regional Director Amador Corpuz and now new Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director has been maintaining – the anti-crime and drug campaign and internal cleansing.
Coronel also commended the efforts of the provincial government of Pampanga, under the leadership of Pineda, in strengthening the anti-drug campaign, which is the top priority of President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Matagal ko na pong nababalitaan na ang Pampanga ay isa sa pinaka-tahimik na probinsya sa Central Luzon. At bilang Kapampangan, pinagmamalaki ko po ito, lalo na ang probinsya ay slightly affected lang sa drugs,” he added.
Moreover, the lady Governor urged the local officials to intensify the monitoring of drug surrenderers.
“Konti na lang. Dagdagan lang natin yung pagta-trabaho para mas marami pang barangay ang ma-drug cleared, nang sa gayon dito sa buong Pampanga, wala ng mababalitaan tungkol sa drugs,” Governor Pineda said.
Meanwhile, 3rd District Board Member Rosve Henson, reiterated that this ‘shared responsibility’ of all the agencies and officials involved will be utilized more from the grassroots level, eventually the province will be drug-free.
Pineda also reminded the council to seriously work on the lapses.
“Ano man ang kailangan niyo, nakakasiguro kayo na naka-suporta ang Kapitolyo,” she added.
RESOLUTION FOR CORPUZ
The Peace and Order Council (POC) awarded a resolution to Corpuz for his exemplary performance in maintaning the peace and order in the province, as well as in the region.
It can be recalled that it was during Corpuz’ leadership that the Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) Summit in Clark was conducted peacefully. Governor Pineda, cited him for this.
Corpuz thanked the province of Pampanga especially Governor Pineda in recognizing his works.
