The government’s main partner in New Clark City (NCC) has underscored the role of the most anticipated development project in the country dubbed as a resilient, smart and modern city.
Nikko David, president of MTD Philippines, in his speech during the topping off ceremonies for the Residences at NCC, has summed up the role of his company in helping usher in a new economic center in Central Luzon and in the country.

The Residences comprise of 525-unit condominium type housing in NCC for use of government employees and other locators.
“We are here to provide economic growth in this area,” said David as he presented status of completion for various key facilities that are being rushed for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games that will be hosted by the Philippines in November this year .
They include a sports stadium, aquatic center, athletes village and other amenities.

“We are here to provide ease of doing business for government agencies to help decongest Metro Manila and to provide resiliency to government operations and services,” he said.
This, as MTD also builds the National Government Administrative Center, a back-up site for government offices inside the NCC in times of disasters and calamities.
Earlier, the Bases Conversion Development Authority which spearheads the development of the 9,450-hectare NCC has said that the place is “close to ready” for the biennial sports meet.
“Phase 1 of the National Government Administrative Center in New Clark City has significantly progressed since it broke ground January this year,” BCDA President and CEO Vivencio Dizon said.
“This proves that government is true to its promise of building quality infrastructure within set deadlines,” he added.
Phase 1 of the 200-hectare National Government Administrative Center involves the development of back-up offices of various agencies to ensure continuous business operations and services for the people in case of disasters or national calamities.
Phase 1A will house the world-class Athletics Stadium, Aquatics Center, Athletes’ Village, and government housing which will soon benefit thousands of athletes and government workers. By the end of 2019, we will see the National Government Administrative Center completed and fully operational.
Phase 1B will involve development of more government buildings, residences and other support facilities that will commence in 2020.
