SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan –Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III has sworn in 13 incumbent mayors, 3 members of the House of Representatives and 3 provincial board members as new members of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipibno (PDP-Laban) during the blessing of the ruling party’s provincial headquarters, in Bgy. Ulingao here Friday afternoon.
Pimentel, President of PDP-Laban, also swore into office Malolos City Mayor as President of PDP-Laban Bulacan along with Meycauayan City Mayor Henry Villarica, vice President; ex-congressman Joselito Mendoza, secretary general; ex-Guguinto Mayor Isagani Pascual; treasurer and Paombong Mayor Mary Anne Marcos, auditor.
Pimentel said other Bulacan mayors are also applying as members but for now, the PDP_Bulacan has initially accepted the mayors of Malolos City, Meycauayan, San Jose del Monte City, Marilao, Hagonoy, Paombong, Baliwag, Pandi, Balagtas, San Ildefonso, Plaridel, Angat and Obando.
The Senate President also administer the oath of membership to Rep. Rida Robes (Lone District of SJose del Monte City, , Rep. Lynabelle Villarican and CIBAC partylist Rep. Sherwin Tugna as well as to the vice mayors of Pulilan and San Miguel.
Incumbent provincial board members Nono castro, Alex Castro and Anjo Mendoza also took their oath as new members of the ruling party.
Hundreds of incumbent and former village chiefs in the said towns and cities were also accepted as associate members.
Pimentel said that the party’s first provincial headquarters will also serve as the “nerve center” of the federalism movement in Bulacan.
“The province of Bulacan will be the model and it will be duplicated in other provinces,” he added.
PDP-Laban Bulacan President Natividad said that the new provincial headquarters can now hold seminars on the federalism movement and other programs.
“We will pursue our programs starting in the grassroot level which will be in sync with the aprty’s national goals and agendas,” Natividad said.—EMIL G. GAMOS
