MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Mayor Atty. Geld Aquino has appointed Dr. Sonny de Guzman as the new president of Mabalacat City College (MCC), replacing outgoing president Atty. Michelle Aguilar-Ong.
Dr. De Guzman, a veteran academic and administrator, is expected to steer the college into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
MCC was established during the administration of former Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales, who envisioned a city-run higher education institution that would provide accessible and quality tertiary education to Mabalaqueños and residents of nearby towns.
Since its founding, MCC has grown steadily, offering programs in education, business, hospitality, information technology, and public administration. The college has also gained recognition for its community engagement initiatives and partnerships with local and international institutions.
Mayor Aquino, in a statement, expressed confidence in De Guzman’s appointment, citing the new president’s extensive experience in educational leadership and commitment to academic excellence.
