Newly restored PAF C-130 aircraft returns to service

CLARK AIR BASE, Philippines — The Philippine Air Force (PAF) celebrated the return of a fully restored C-130 aircraft to operational service in a ceremony held on Tuesday at Clark Air Base in Pampanga. The event marked a significant milestone for the Air Force, highlighting its growing capability in aircraft maintenance and fleet readiness.

The Blessing and Turnover Ceremony was led by Major General Dennis G. Estrella, Commander of the Air Logistics Command, alongside key Air Force officials. Among those in attendance were Brigadier General Joselito T. Lopena, Wing Commander of the 220th Airlift Wing; Brigadier General Josel J. Zuñiga, Deputy Commander of the Air Mobility Command; and Brigadier General Jose Bonifacio F. Calub, Wing Commander of the 410th Maintenance Wing.

The aircraft, a workhorse of the PAF fleet, underwent extensive mandatory structural maintenance to restore it to full operational status. The successful completion of the restoration reflects the Air Force’s commitment to ensuring the reliability and longevity of its air assets. The C-130 plays a crucial role in national defense operations, disaster response, and humanitarian missions.

The restoration effort also underscores the Air Force’s increasing self-reliance in aircraft maintenance.
