NHCP unveils “Jose Abad Santos” historical marker

SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, BULACAN ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo will unveil the historical marker, “Jose Abad Santos” on 6 March, 10:00 a.m. The marker states:

1886 – 1942 

ISINILANG SA SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA, 19 PEBRERO 1886. GINAMPANAN NANG SABAY ANG TUNGKULIN BIILANG PUNONG MAHISTRADO NG KATAAS-KATAASANG HUKUMAN NG PILIPINAS AT KALIHIM NG PANANALAPI, PAGSASAKA, AT KOMERSIYO NANG SUMIKLAB ANG IKALAWANG DIGMAANG PANDAIGDIG, 1941-1942. PINILING MAGPAIWAN SA PILIPINAS AT HINIRANG NI PANGULONG MANUEL QUEZON BILANG TAGAPANGALAGA NG PAMAHALAANG KOMONWELT NA MAY LUBOS NA KAPANGYARIHAN BILANG PANGULO NG PILIPINAS MULA 19 PEBRERO 1942 HANGGANG SA MADAKIP NG MGA HAPON SA CARCAR, CEBU, 10 ABRIL 1942. DINALA SA MALABANG, NGAYO’Y BAYAN NG LANAO DEL SUR, AT DITO PINASLANG NOONG 1 MAYO 1942 DAHIL SA PATULOY NA PAGTANGGING MAKIISA SA HUKBONG IMPERYAL NG HAPON. HINDI NA NATAGPUAN PA ANG KANIYANG MGA LABI.  

NHCP Executive Director Arevalo will present the marker while Malabang Vice Mayor Raizoli S. Balindong will deliver his acceptance speech.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
