The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PAMCHAM) has lauded the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the NLEX Corporation for their swift response in addressing the disruptions caused by the ongoing repairs at the Marilao Bridge.
The implementation of temporary toll relief for motorists traveling northbound from Balintawak to Meycauayan, effective March 24, 2025, at 12 noon, is a crucial intervention. This measure not only eases the burden on daily commuters but also highlights the effectiveness of collaboration between government agencies and the private sector in delivering solutions that benefit the public.

PAMCHAM Chairman Rene Romero extended its appreciation to DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon for his decisive leadership in coordinating with NLEX to provide immediate relief. His proactive approach underscores the agency’s commitment to addressing transport-related challenges with urgency and empathy. Likewise, the chamber commended NLEX Corporation for its responsiveness and corporate social responsibility in acting on the public’s concerns.
In light of the upcoming Holy Week, PAMCHAM is urging NLEX to expedite the repair of the Marilao Bridge to ensure smoother travel for thousands of Filipinos returning to their provinces. The chamber emphasized that completing the project before this peak travel period would provide much-needed convenience to motorists.
“This toll relief is more than just a temporary waiver—it is a testament to the power of public-private synergy in addressing urgent issues. We remain hopeful for the swift completion of the repairs and express our full support for the hardworking teams ensuring progress on the ground,” said Romero.
