NLEX Road Warriors (NRW) officially kicked off its first-ever Coaches Camp last Saturday, November 23, 2024, participated by over 35 barangay and school coaches in Bulacan.
The NRW Coaches Camp is one of NLEX Corporation’s initiatives to empower and give back to communities through sports.
“Through this activity, NLEX hopes to make a positive impact in the communities we serve. We want to inspire participants to become great coaches and grow as better leaders. Coaching extends far beyond the court—it’s about fostering discipline, teamwork, and perseverance,” said NLEX Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management, Donna Faylona-Marcelo.
“Coaching is not just about basketball. The lessons learned here—whether about strategy or mentorship—can also be applied in their everyday life. We hope this camp leaves a lasting positive impact on everyone involved,” Marcelo added.
It was a whole day of fun as the participants got to show off their skills with NRW players Sean Anthony and Asi Taulava with the Coaches Camp Head Larry Fonacier. “I am happy for the opportunity to contribute in any way to help aspiring coaches better understand the game and their players. Basketball has always been a sport that has given us so much, and NLEX is always eager to share its knowledge and resources with coaches, both on and off the court,” said Coach Larry.
The NLEX Road Warriors remain committed to fostering talent and leadership through programs that support grassroots basketball and community development. The Coaches Camp caravan is set to roll on other provinces in the north. Follow the NLEX Road Warriors Facebook page for announcements.
