“There are no maltreatment of workers.”
Thus said RealSteel General Manager Melody Arellano during a press briefing held in San Simon, Pampanga on Tuesday morning.
Arellano clarified the 42 former workers who were allegedly maltreated actually resigned from the steel company.
Only 11 of the 42 workers are regular workers and the rest are on probationary status.
Arellano also brushed off reports the 42 workers had been rescued.
The RealSteel management has also denied charges that illegal drug use was prevalent among workers in the company.
But a certification issued by Police Major Freddie C. Herry of the San Simon Municipal Police Station noted they already conducted unannounced drug testing for employees of RealSteel last February 4, 2020 as part of their annual physical examination.
