Anti-corruption protests are heating up in Pampanga.
A province-wide noise barrage will be staged on September 17, followed by a Holy Mass and peaceful rally the next day, September 18, at the Metropolitan Cathedral in the City of San Fernando.
The multi-sectoral group Concerned Citizens of Pampanga said the activities are meant to pressure the government into conducting a transparent investigation into the multibillion-peso ghost and substandard flood control projects.

Catholic Church leaders have thrown their support behind the calls. Cardinal Pablo David reminded officials that “corruption is theft of the people’s money and betrayal of public trust.” He urged Pampanga residents to unite and demand justice for wasted flood control funds.
The projects, funded under DPWH allocations, have drawn national outrage after revelations that lawmakers, DPWH officials, and favored contractors—including the Discaya-owned St. Timothy Construction Corporation—allegedly benefited from anomalous deals.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has since directed DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon to file cases before the Ombudsman, with the first batch targeting officials in Bulacan and several contractors.
The Pampanga group hold a press conference today to outline their demands and mobilization plans.
