Health and wellness took center stage at the NCO Empowerment Seminar on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, as medical experts from the Camp Aquino Station Hospital delivered a lecture on lifestyle diseases and preventive healthcare.
LTC RAFAEL T. RESPICIO MC underscored the growing risks of hypertension, diabetes, and other lifestyle-related illnesses among military personnel, stressing the importance of early detection and a proactive approach to well-being.

“Good health is a force multiplier. A strong, healthy soldier is a capable defender of our nation,” LTC RESPICIO said, encouraging troops to adopt healthier habits.
The seminar aligns with NOLCOM’s Command thrust of being a Jointly-Engaged, Sustainment-Maintained, And Readiness-Trained Force, ensuring personnel are physically and mentally fit to meet operational demands. It also reinforces the core values of Matapang (bravery) in overcoming health challenges, Masipag (diligence) in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Magalang (respect) for oneself and others by prioritizing well-being, and Responsable (responsibility) in taking charge of one’s health.
This initiative is part of NOLCOM’s broader effort to integrate wellness programs into its operational readiness framework, ensuring its personnel remain in peak condition to fulfill their mission effectively.
