TARLAC CITY — Armed Forces of the Philippines Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) is on alert for the possible effects of Super Typhoon “Egay” in Regions 1,2,3 and Cordillera.
“Egay” is expected to make landfall in Cagayan or Batanes between late evening of July 25 and afternoon of July 26 with strong winds and heavy rainfall.
NOLCOM Commander Lieutenant General Fernyl Buca disclosed that their personnel, assets and resources are in place and ready to be deployed.
He added that all forces including the Army, Navy, Air Force and reservists are on standby, and are now in a position to perform Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Operations as the need arises.
“We stand ready to confront the potential impact of Super Typhoon Egay. We are fully prepared to collaborate with local authorities and relevant agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective response to any disaster that may unfold,” the commander said.
Buca also reminded the possible affected families and communities to prepare in case of emergency, and to follow the announcement and advisories of local authorities.
“I further urge the residents and communities in potentially affected areas to remain vigilant and stay prepared for any emergency. Citizens are advised to adhere to guidelines issued by local disaster management agencies and to evacuate promptly if necessary, prioritizing their safety and well-being,” he stated. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
