Some 240,000 grams of shabu worth P1.6 billion had been seized from two Chinese nationals in Cabanatuan City on Friday.
A joint controlled delivery operations conducted by operatives of the Philippine Drug and Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Bureau of Customs – NAIA , NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group in coordination with Police Regional Office 3- Cabanatuan City Police Office resulted to the arrest of two Chinese nationals along Jollibee Diversion Rd., Brgy. Sumacab Sur, Cabanatuan City. Confiscated from the two were 240,000 grams of shabu worth P1.632 billion; one blue Vibo smart phone; one black Honor smart phone; two gray Nokia keypad cellular phones; a gray Honda City with conduction sticket E1 N497 and a Mitsubishi L300.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director BGen. Valeriano De Leon identified the Chines nationals as Jayson Tan and James Ong.
Based on reports gathered from lead operating units, subject cargo was declared as “Work Bench Tables”, shipped by a certain Ywlee 87 Trading of Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, and consigned to a company identified as Allejam International Trading in Manila. The cargo arrived at the PAL PSI Warehouse on October 24, 2020.
After intensified surveillance, misdeclared cargo was identified and subjected to X-ray Scanning and Physical Examination. Found were heavily wrapped 240 plastic packs of shabu.
The Regional Director added that appropriate charges for violation Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in relation to Section 1401 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act are being readied for filing in court against the two Chinese nationals . The seized illegal drugs were turned-over to PDEA.
