A high-value target drug personality was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Cebu that also resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth Php4,250,000.00 on January 26, 2020.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspect as Ceilo Mendoza Regner, who was arrested at around 4:15 PM by joint elements of PDEA Regional Office VII (PDEA ROVII) under the supervision of Director Wardley M. Getalla, and local police in Vistamar, Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Confiscated during the buy-bust operation were 21 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing more or less 625 grams, with an estimated value of Php4,250,000.00, 16 pieces of money remittance receipts, one sling bag, cash amounting to Php1,560.00, and the buy-bust money.
The suspect will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
