BALANGA CITY – To strengthen grassroots governance and community development, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officially turned over the newly built Paysawan Barangay Hall in Bagac, Bataan.
Funded with P4.82 million under the 2024 national budget, the 100-square-meter, two-story structure now serves as the administrative hub of the village, designed to improve the delivery of basic services and provide a venue for public transactions, social activities, and development programs for residents.
DPWH Bataan 3rd District Engineer Maribel Navarro underscored the significance of the project in raising the capacity of local officials to meet the needs of their constituents.
“Equipped with modern fixtures and safety features such as full structural works, electrical, plumbing, and sanitary installations, the building is designed to ensure the efficient operation of government services,” Navarro said.
She added that the facility will enable barangay officials and staff to better serve residents and further strengthen local governance in the area.
The initiative supports the government’s efforts to bring services closer to communities by investing in local infrastructure, which helps make public service more accessible and efficient at the grassroots level. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
