P74M sports complex soon to rise in Meycauayan City

Meycauayan Mayor Linabelle Ruth R. Villarica and Vice Mayor Josefina O. Violago on Wednesday spearheaded the groundbreaking and time-capsule laying ceremony for the new world-class sports complex that soon to rise in Barangay Banga in this city.

Villarica said the new Meycauayan Sports Complex is the first public sports center with world-class standard amenities includes such as track and field oval with sports rubber flooring, basketball, badminton and tennis courts, eco-tourism parks, evacuation center and offices with a bridge over the lagoon.

“The target completion of this sports complex is on early year of 2021 to be build in more or less 7,000 square meters land area,” Villarica added.

The lady mayor also thanked his husband Bulacan 4th, District Cong. Henry Villarica, who is the real author of said project when he was then the city mayor.

Present during the ceremony were the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod led by Councilor Catherine Abacan, Jerimeco Dulalia, Mario Aguirre, Mary Christine Paguio, Arnaldo Velasco, Mario Berboso, Dhon M. Banez, Atty. Larissa Abracero, Wilfredo Macatulad, Anna Kathrina Hernandez, barangay officials, department heads of the local government and barangay officials.

Coincided with the said groundbreaking was a lechon festival through boodle fight activity that was served to thousands of residents here sponsored by the local hog traders in the said place.

Meycauayan folks was the fifth cities and towns who conducted boodle fight lechon festival to show to the people of Bulacan that swine and meat processed foods are safe to eat.
