The Pag-IBIG Fund continues to offer its members in Central Luzon the opportunity to save through its voluntary Modified Pag-IBIG 2 (MP2) Savings program.

Focusing on long-term financial growth, the program allows members to save as little as P500 per month, offering higher dividends than the Pag-IBIG Regular Savings Program.

During the 24th episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency, Pag-IBIG Fund San Fernando Housing Business Center Department Manager Brenda Cao announced that under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration, from July 2022 to September 2024, active members in the region saved a total of P6.81 billion through the MP2 program.

“The MP2 Savings program is designed for both Pag-IBIG Fund members with active regular savings and those who are self-employed or without formal employment. It offers flexible contributions and tax-free dividends,” Cao said.

She also shared that Pag-IBIG Fund members enrolled in the program can contribute a minimum of P500 per month or a lump sum amount.

“The savings are locked in for a minimum of five years, but members can extend their participation if they wish to continue saving,” she added.

The program guarantees higher dividends than the Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, providing a better return on investments. In 2023, the MP2 program yielded an annual dividend rate of 7.05 percent.

“This is one of the best options for our members who are looking to grow their savings safely,” Cao said.

The MP2 Savings program is open to all Pag-IBIG Fund members, including those not currently contributing to the mandatory Pag-IBIG savings.

“This program is also available to pensioners who are former Pag-IBIG members with at least 24 monthly savings prior to retirement,” she explained.

In addition to its attractive returns, the program promotes financial discipline and helps members plan for life goals such as education, housing, and retirement.

Members interested in the MP2 program can visit their nearest Pag-IBIG branch or apply online through the Pag-IBIG Fund’s official website.

“To start saving, members must first be active Pag-IBIG Fund members and register for the MP2 Savings online via Virtual Pag-IBIG or in person,” she emphasized.

As part of its commitment to supporting Filipinos in achieving financial security, Pag-IBIG Fund continues to improve its services, offering affordable and accessible savings and loan options for members in Central Luzon and across the country. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
