BALER, Aurora – The Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund is encouraging income earners in Aurora to register as members and avail of its various savings and loan programs.

These benefits include access to provident savings, short-term loans, and affordable housing programs aimed at helping members secure their financial future.

Pag-IBIG Fund Member Services Office Supervisor Ron Carreon explained that the program is open to all Filipino workers—including those in the government and private sector, self-employed individuals, and overseas Filipino workers.

“This is an inclusive program. Even if you are just starting your career or earning a minimum of ₱1,000 a month, you can already become a member and begin saving for your future,” Carreon said.

Under Republic Act 9679, membership is mandatory for all Filipino workers, reinforcing the Fund’s mission to promote homeownership and economic security through long-term savings.

A monthly contribution of ₱200 to ₱400 allows members to build tax-free savings without maintaining balance requirements or hidden deductions.

Carreon noted that contributions can now be made digitally through platforms such as GCash and other e-wallets, making the process more convenient for members.

“Having savings gives you peace of mind. It is a form of security that helps you prepare for emergencies, achieve your goals, and support your family in the long run,” he emphasized.

Interested residents may register online through www.pagibigfund.gov.ph and will receive a tracking number and a permanent Pag-IBIG number within two to three days.

For in-person transactions, residents may proceed to the Pag-IBIG Member Services Desk located at NE Ground, Suklayin, Baler, Aurora.

Pag-IBIG aims to grow its 12,000 membership base in Aurora to 25,000, which would qualify the province for a full-service branch that brings faster, more accessible, and improved services to the local community. (CLJD/MJRD, PIA Region 3 – Aurora)
