PAL group clinches global safety audit

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and PAL Express (PALex) have successfully
completed their respective IATA Operational Safety Audits (IOSA)
confirming the PAL Group’s conformance with the highest international
aviation safety standards.

The IOSA is the internationally recognized safety evaluation system of
the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that rigorously
assesses the operational management and control systems of an airline.
Conducted every two years, the IOSA is accepted by top government
authorities as the gold standard in airline safety assessments.

PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Captain Stanley K. Ng said,
“I congratulate the men and women of Philippine Airlines for their
collective effort in sustaining work processes that align with global
aviation safety standards. We all commit to live and promote a culture
of safety above all, the cornerstone of PAL operations. As the aviation
industry strives to meet the surge in travel demand, the safety of our
flights and our passengers remains our top priority.”

The IOSA audit affirms that PAL and PAL Express are committed to adhere
to safety standards in the areas of flight operations, aircraft
engineering and maintenance, organization and management, operational
control and flight dispatch, cabin operations, ground handling
operations, cargo operations, and security management.

This is PAL’s 9th consecutive successful IATA Operational Safety
Audit (IOSA) renewal, marking nearly two decades of consistent work in
Operational Safety by the flag carrier. PAL’s first IOSA registration
was in 2006. The new IOSA registration is valid until April 10, 2025.

Similarly, PAL Express marked its adherence to the global standard with
its 5th successful IOSA renewal. PAL Express first entered the IOSA
Registry in 2014. Its current IOSA registration is valid until March 28,
2025.

PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent L. Ang said: “The unwavering
commitment to maintaining a culture of safety, as signified by passing
the audits on a regular basis, is a testament to the dedication and
professionalism of the entire organization, which consistently strive to
maintain the highest standards of safety excellence.”

To maintain its membership with IATA, the global aviation body, the
airlines of the PAL Group are mandated to complete the IOSA
re-certification once every two years.

As the Philippines’ only full-service airline network, the PAL Group
operates extensive domestic flights within the Philippines and
international nonstop flights to North America, the Middle East,
Australia and various points in Asia.
