“Something big is coming!”
This was the tagline used by developers to promote the newest resort that is expected to excite Kapampangans: the Palm Cabanas Resort Inc. in San Antonio, Arayat town, Pampanga.
The Palm Cabanas Resort was inaugurated on November 17 and officially opened to the public on November 18 which Palm Cabanas Resort Inc. President Jhanssen Tan said is the realization of an idea which started more than a decade ago.
“It was an idea that would not only bring joy to people but also spark economic growth and make a difference primarily in the loves of the citizens of Arayat and the nearby towns and cities; an idea that is ready to take on the challenges of the fast-changing world and the different intricacies of the demands of the market,” Tan said.
The project took its first step when on May 15, 2018, company officials kicked their shovels in the ground formally breaking ground to start the development of the resort, an event which Tan narrated left them totally petrified, along with his family and their partners.
“We knew from that moment on that there was no turning back. This is it!” he quipped during his speech at the opening.
As development went on day after day, week after week, the resort gradually took form and, after a year and a half of pressure and problems that caused some delays, the Palm Cabanas Resort rose from what was once a seven-hectare barren tract of land.
The resort features a view of majestic Mount Arayat, particularly from the Café Cabana, the resort’s coffee shop and bar, as well as from the function hall featuring a stage where functions, meetings or planning activities can be conducted.
There is also the Kusine de Cabana, the resort’s restaurant, where guests can savor assorted menu featuring Kapampangan dishes along with some international dishes and authentic Chinese cuisine.
There is also the Royal Palm Grand Hall, a function facility that can house social functions such as weddings and parties as well as corporate activities such as seminars.
Of course, a resort must have a pool. And Palm Cabanas not only has one but three!
It features an Olympic-sized pool they affectionately call Olympia that features a statue of the Greek god Poseidon, being the god of the sea, looking over bathers.
They also have the Oasis Pool that features not one, but two, giant slides for the adult clientele as well as life-sized dinosaurs, a Brachiosaurus near the poolside, a Triceratops on one side, and an Allosaurus next to it.
The presence of the dinosaurs gives the Oasis its name, being a watering hole for animals during the prehistoric era.
There is also the smaller and colorful Kiddie Pool. Fenced with brilliantly-colored seashells and starfish from the beach strewn on ropes surrounding the pool, children will definitely have a joyful time splashing and wading while being kept safe.
Expansion plans are also on the horizon as the owners and developers are planning to construct a hotel for guests that would like to stay overnight or for a while to enjoy its amenities and the natural scenery it offers.
So, Kapampangans as well as domestic and foreign tourists that are on the lookout for a fresh, new place to spend some quality time with family and friends this summer, can look up the Palm Cabanas Resort and what it has to offer guests.
