CLARK FREEPORT – Top business groups in Pampanga joined forces to push their collective advocacies for the benefit of the local economy,
environment and residents.
The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PAMCHAM), Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (MACCII) and the Clark Investors and Locators Association held their first-ever joint board
meeting at the Bases Conversion and Development Corporation (BCDA)
Boardroom on March 11.
“I have been trying to arrange this joint board meeting for two decades but it didn’t bear fruit until now. This is an historic meeting,” said PAMCHAM President Rene Romero.
Levy P. Laus, PAMCHAM Chairman emeritus, agreed with Romero “that is
indeed an historic meeting.”
“Now, we have a stronger voice when lobbying for our advocacies,” said Laus.
“One of our advocacies is that we want to make sure that local businessmen will benefit from the developments at Clark. We don’t want to wake up one day and see that all the investors at Clark are not from Pampanga,” he added.
As a group, they will also move for the protection of the watershed at Clark.
Others who attended the meeting were Frankie Villanueva, CILA President, and Myra Rivera, president of MACCII Officers and directors
of MACCII, PAMCHAM and CILA also graced the meeting.
BCDA President Vince Dizon and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Noel Manankil also graced the meeting. Dizon offered
to host again the future joint meeting of the three groups.
