PamCham, PNP strengthen ties for community safety

The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham) has commended the Philippine National Police (PNP) for its prompt and decisive response to rising concerns over a wave of “Bukas Kotse” (car break-in) incidents affecting commercial zones across the province.

In a coordination meeting held on May 7, 2025, at the PamCham office, business leaders and senior police officials came together to outline joint strategies for crime prevention, public safety, and law enforcement. The dialogue reinforced the private-public sector’s commitment to safeguarding key economic hubs such as San Fernando, Angeles City, Magalang, and the Clark Freeport Zone.

The discussions highlighted the implementation of Republic Act No. 11917, or the CCTV Law, which requires designated establishments to install surveillance systems. The law aims to boost real-time crime monitoring and investigation capabilities, while also serving as a strong deterrent to potential criminal activity.

PamCham also expressed its full backing of the PNP’s public safety efforts, including educational campaigns targeted at the business community. These initiatives focus on promoting proactive security practices, emergency preparedness, and collaborative community engagement.

“This collaboration signals a shift in mindset—where business security becomes a shared civic duty,” PamCham said in a statement following the meeting.

The renewed partnership underscores a shared vision for a secure and investment-ready Pampanga. Both PamCham and the PNP reaffirmed their commitment to protecting lives, businesses, and public trust as vital pillars of the province’s sustained economic growth.
