
Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda expressed full support for the future of responsible journalism during a courtesy visit from officials of the School Press Advisers Movement, Inc. (SPAM, Inc.) ahead of the 16th National Campus Media Conference set at National University Clark on September 25–27.
Over 1,000 campus journalists and school paper advisers from across the country are expected to attend the event to learn, network, and compete in various campus journalism skills.

Joining the governor in welcoming the delegation were CDC Director Nicolette Henson, Board Members Cherry Manalo and Fritzie David-Dizon. The SPAM Inc. delegation included President Richard Briones; Chief Operating Officer and SPAM BOT Chairperson Melanie Viloria-Briones; NU Clark BA Communication Faculty Professor and SPAM Marketing & Sponsorship Coordinator Jion Joel Mendoza; and NU Clark BA Communication Faculty Professor and SPAM National Coordinator Rachelle L. Maglalang.

The provincial government assured its commitment to the safety of young journalists and to advancing higher standards of responsible campus journalism.
