CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Pampanga Security Preparedness Cluster tightened measures for the upcoming 30th SEA Games to ensure peaceful, orderly environment for all delegates and guests set to come to the country for the international sports fest.
Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda and Pampanga Police Office (PPO) Provincial Director PCol Jean Fajardo convened partners in the inter-agency coordinating conference of the cluster held here on Wednesday.
According to PCol Fajardo, “I could confidently say that as of today, ang Pampanga cluster po ay ready to receive all the delegates.”
Task units on the venues, billeting areas, routes, traffic and staging areas will be deployed on November 20, PCol Fajardo shared.
PLt Col John Bernard Tacdoy said 1, 166 Philippine National Police (PNP) officers will be deployed to ensure the safety in these areas.
Another 732 PNP officers will serve as anti-criminality and support staff to ensure overall safety.
Furthermore, Security and Safety Task Units will be joined by 1, 070 personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and local government units (LGUs).
PLt Col Tacdoy also said the task units identified possible scenarios such as protests, rallies, structural damages, and earthquake. They are prepared to respond to any kind of emergency.
Ten sport events will be held in the province— baseball, softball, archery, rugby sevens, dance sports, petanque, judo, jiu-jitsu, kurash, and lawn bowl.
Dance sports and petanque will be held at Royce Hotel; kurash, judo and jiu-jitsu, Laus Convention Center; softball and baseball, The Villages; archery and rugby sevens, Parade Grounds.
Currently, 1, 229 of the 1, 534 expected entries in the province have registered for the 30th SEA Games.
