CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government of Pampanga spent a total of P267,780,907.95 for various infrastructure projects in 2016.
Based on the report of the Office of the Provincial Engineer, some 159 infrastructure projects, programs, and activities were implemented in the four districts of the province.
Out of the P267M worth of projects, some P109,997,619 was used for the construction and rehabilitation of 51 multi-purpose buildings and covered areas; P78,793,883 for the concreting and rehabilitation of 72 farm to market and barangay roads; and 28,162,148.51 for evacuation centers.
In 2016, the provincial government also started the construction of the two-storey Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) school building in Sta. Catalina, Lubao worth P19,947,773.34. Some school buildings were also repaired and constructed in other primary and secondary schools in the province worth P10,298,712.4.
The Regional Anti-Crime Office in Camp Olivas also underwent upgrading and improvement while two new Philippine National Police quarters were constructed worth 3,206,488.94.
Repairs and improvement worth P2,058,569.85 were also done at Arayat District Hospital and Mabalacat District Hospital while a total of P1,624,152.84 was spent on the repair of various department offices in the Provincial Capitol.
The provincial government also constructed footbridges worth 2,835,253.54, line and irrigation canals – P6,689,702.35, perimeter fences – P3,302,902.32, diversion dam P517,648.84, Barangay outpost – P238,143.33 and boundary marker – P81,936.68.
