CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Pampanga Provincial Police Director PCOL Jay C. Dimaandal led a security inspection of the Dau Bus Terminal in Mabalacat City on Wednesday, April 16, in anticipation of heavy passenger traffic during Holy Week.
Accompanied by personnel from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and Explosives and Ordnance Division (EOD) K9 units, Dimaandal oversaw security sweeps of baggage counters, waiting areas, and boarding zones to ensure public safety.

“The safety and security of passengers is our utmost priority, especially during this peak travel season,” Dimaandal said. “We are implementing enhanced security measures, including increased police presence, to maintain peace and order.”
The Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO) has activated police assistance desks across the terminal and deployed additional personnel to address emergencies and provide support to travelers. Passengers were advised to stay alert, secure their belongings, and report any suspicious activity.
The inspection is part of the broader implementation of “Oplan Ligtas SumVac 2025,” the PNP’s nationwide campaign to ensure safe and orderly travel during the summer break. The program runs through May to include the return flow of tourists and vacationers.
The Dau Terminal, one of Central Luzon’s busiest transport hubs, connects Pampanga to key destinations such as Baguio City, Metro Manila, Bataan, Tarlac, and Zambales. Major bus operators like Victory Liner and Genesis Transport maintain frequent services at the terminal, making it a critical travel point during holidays.
The Pampanga PPO is also working closely with bus companies, terminal administrators, and local government units to streamline travel operations and mitigate security risks throughout the season.
