ANGELES CITY, Philippines – The Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) has launched a Korean Desk in Angeles City to strengthen ties with the Korean community and ensure their safety, a move officials said reflects growing cooperation between Pampanga authorities and South Korea’s embassy.

The desk, formally opened at Police Station 4 on August 21, was inaugurated in the presence of Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-Hwa, local officials, and leaders of the Korean community, one of the largest foreign groups in Pampanga.

“Our commitment to providing a safe environment for residents, including foreign nationals, remains a top priority,” said Pampanga police director PCOL Eugene M. Marcelo. “The Korean Desk will serve as a vital resource for fostering community partnerships and addressing the unique needs of the Korean community.”

Regional police chief PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. and Usec. Gilberto D.C. Cruz of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission also underscored the need for inter-agency cooperation in safeguarding the province’s international residents.

The Korean Desk is expected to serve as a liaison hub, providing assistance to Korean nationals on safety issues, legal concerns, and community coordination. Officials said the initiative is part of Pampanga police’s broader effort to build inclusive and responsive public safety programs.
