With the 2025 Midterm Elections on the horizon, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), PNP-Pampanga, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have launched the Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC) to coordinate election security efforts. The first security conference, held on November 5, 2024, marked the official start of preparations.
The meeting was led by PNP-Pampanga Provincial Director PCOL Jay C. Dimaandal, Philippine Army 70th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Ronnel Dela Cruz, and COMELEC Pampanga Provincial Election Supervisor IV Atty. Lydia F. Pangilinan.
Attendees included chiefs of police and election officers from various municipalities across Pampanga, all of whom are tasked with implementing security protocols to safeguard the voting process. Police and military representatives shared initial security plans, while key election rules under the Omnibus Election Code were reviewed to ensure full compliance.
POLICE COLONEL DIMAANDAL stressed the importance of unified security strategies, saying, “Our mission is to protect the integrity of our democratic process, ensuring that the 2025 elections are fair, safe, and peaceful.”
This conference marks the beginning of a series of PJSCC meetings focused on maintaining security and order as election day approaches.
