CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Provincial government of Pampanga turned over motor vehicles and firearms to Highway Patrol Group (HPG) of Philippine National Police (PNP).
The P10 million worth of donations include 4 BMW motorcycles, 2 Ford Raptors, 10 units of 9mm rifles, and 10 units of convertible assault rifles.
PNP Chief PGen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, who received the donation in behalf of the HPG, expressed thanks to the provincial government as this proves the real support of the local government to the efforts of the police.
“Aside from these vehicles and firearms, I saw earlier the 16-bed capacity isolation facility at Camp Olivas which was also turned over by the provincial government of Pampanga for use of PNP personnel. Donations like these are a sign of excellent collaboration between the PNP and our local government units. These help us become more effective in our duties, but of course, we still need the cooperation of the public,” Eleazar said.
Meanwhile, Governor Dennis Pineda said the vehicles and firearms will help boost police visibility on national roads within the province.
“We have an agreement with the HPG that they will help us in our peace and order efforts. We provided vehicles and weapons to help maintain peace and order in our province, especially in communities and businesses,” Pineda said.
Aside from the donations, the governor also committed to prioritize vaccinating all PNP personnel against COVID-19 once its vaccine purchase was delivered so that the police can better serve the Kapampangans.
Aside from the turnover of vehicles and firearms, Eleazar also visited police stations in the province and commended them for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
“Earlier I passed by Sto. Tomas Municipal Police Station and I found it clean not only in the inside but also outside. If that is the standard police station in the entire Police Regional Office 3 jurisdiction, I am impressed. The clean environment, clean office, and clean uniform of the police will show the quality of their service to their communities,” he said.
