Pandan’s Allyson Hetland Wins MNA 2024

Allyson Arceo Hetland of Barangay Pandan was crowned Mutya Ning Angeles (MNA) 2024 in a grand and glittering final showdown during the live coronation night at the Grand Palazzo Royale, Angeles City, on November 28.

The crown was presented by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., 1st District Congressman Carmelo Jon Lazatin II, and Beautéderm CEO and Chairman Rei Anicoche-Tan.

MNA is a flagship project of Mayor Lazatin, co-presented by Beautéderm Corporation. Hetland received a ₱2,000,000 prize package: ₱1.5 million in cash from the city government and ₱500,000 from Beautéderm, which includes ₱150,000 in cash and ₱350,000 worth of products and BeautéHaus services. Hetland was also automatically named Beautéderm’s brand ambassador.

Hetland, making her comeback, first joined MNA 2022 but returned stronger this year to claim the crown, succeeding MNA 2023 Genica Mae Cruz of Barangay Cutcut.

The final walk of Cruz as the reigning MNA 2023 queen was a memorable and emotional moment. Following her victory, Cruz will participate in the provincewide Mutya Ning Kapampangan (MNK) 2024 on December 10 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

Alongside Hetland, the other queens were awarded cash prizes:

• 1st Runner-Up: Arielle Maritoni Dizon Cabatana (Barangay San Jose)

• 2nd Runner-Up: Shauntal Claudio (Barangay Margot)

• 3rd Runner-Up: Eingel Lumbang (Barangay Sapangbato)

• 4th Runner-Up: Angel Subalisid (Barangay Mining)

The runners-up received cash prizes of ₱200,000, ₱150,000, ₱100,000, and ₱75,000, respectively, along with a crown, sash, and bouquet of flowers.

Several other queens also received corporate and special awards with cash prizes:

• MNA 2024 grand winner Hetland earned the titles Ms. Fiesta Communities (₱20,000), Ms. JDN Realty (₱50,000), Best in Talent (₱50,000), and Best in Long Gown (₱50,000)

• Shauntal Claudio (Margot): Ms. Hausland (₱20,000) and Ms. Photogenic (₱25,000)

• Trizz De Leon (Cuayan): Friendship Award (₱10,000)

• Arielle Maritoni Dizon Cabatana (San Jose): Best in Swimsuit (₱25,000)

The titles were awarded by sponsors and the city’s department heads.

The MNA 2024 Grand Coronation’s Board of Judges was chaired by Gloria Diaz, the veteran actress, model, and Miss Universe 1969 titleholder. The panel also included LIPAD CEO Noel Manankil; Comelec City Director Atty. Charmaine Fhaye Casquejo; former chairperson of Mutya Ning Pilipinas Region III, Miss Philippines Region III, and Mutya and Ginoong Angeles Herminia Pamintuan; and Tourism Regional Director Dr. Richard Daenos. The judging panel was joined by city councilors and barangay officials.

The MNA 2024 crown, designed by renowned artist Cholo Ayuyao, symbolizes the city’s progress and the visionary leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. More than just an accessory, this year’s crown reflects the vibrant economy and flourishing artistic culture of Angeles City.

Mayor Lazatin expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of MNA 2024. In his special message, he commended the MNA Working Committee, led by his Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, for making this year’s pageant the grandest yet, surpassing expectations year after year.

The mayor also acknowledged the unwavering support of Beautéderm Corporation, under the leadership of President and CEO Rei Anicoche-Tan, for being a steadfast partner of the MNA pageant throughout his administration.

He further extended his appreciation to the Barangay Captains, Barangay Officials, and Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons for their invaluable support in ensuring the success of the event.

In closing, Mayor Lazatin congratulated the MNA 2024 candidates for their grace, confidence, and inspiring representation of their barangays, wishing them continued success on and off the stage.

The grand coronation night was hosted by DJ Tina Moran and Filipino-American radio DJ and actor KC Montero. Filipino-Canadian singer, actor, and Beautéderm ambassador Darren Espanto serenaded the Top Ten Finalists during their long gown segment, delighting the audience with classic love songs before taking selfies with fans. The AUF Performing Arts Group also provided lively dance intermissions.

MNA Working Committee Chairpersons IC Calaguas and Reina Manuel also congratulated the new MNA 2024 winners and expressed their gratitude to all the homegrown designers and sponsors.

Angeles City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui is among the leading members of the working committee, along with ACEDIPO Head Irish Bonus-Llego, ACTO Consultant Cecille Flores-Sanchez, Marlon Tuazon, Rosette Ramos-Biag, Gerome Esguerra, Frederick Policarpio, Poklong Guina, and Marna Dagumboy-Del Rosario.

The support staff includes Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles; Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary and Information Communication Technology Division Chief Michael Lising; Angeles City Traffic Development Office head Kiko Pangilinan; Angeles City Police Office; City Information Office headed by Arnel San Pedro; Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Master Chief Rudy Simeon; and Lazatin’s Senior Staff.
