SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ – The Philippine Carabao Center at Central Luzon State University (PCC at CLSU) is promoting its genuine carabao leather products branded as “Cara Cuero.”
PCC at CLSU Center Director Ericson Dela Cruz said they produce a variety of leather items made from carabao hide including jackets, belts, slippers, sandals, boots, top-sider shoes, bags, coin purses, wallets, and notebooks.
“Ang kagandahan po kasi dito sa Cara Cuero na pino-promote natin, pure carabao hide po siya. Meaning to say, masasabi po natin na dekalidad yung produkto [The beauty of the Cara Cuero that we are promoting is that it is pure carabao hide. Meaning to say, we can say that the product is of quality],” he emphasized.
The products are available in a range of classic and modern colors, prints, textures, finishes, and thicknesses, designed to suit various customer preferences.
Despite the products’ high quality, PCC at CLSU ensures that these items are offered at reasonable prices, providing a more affordable option compared to expensive branded leather products available in stores.
“Yung pong ating mga Cara Cuero products ay affordable, accessible, at available po sa public. So, hindi po siya mahal, hindi rin naman siya mura, kundi tamang-tama lamang po yung presyo niya para maibalik lang yung ginastos sa produksyon [Our Cara Cuero products are affordable, accessible, and available to the public. So, they are not expensive, nor are they cheap, but their price is just right to recover the cost of production],” Dela Cruz stated.
Cara Cuero products are crafted in collaboration with partners in the tanning industry based in Meycauayan City, Bulacan and Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, in support of local artisans.
