Systems Plus College Foundation communication students shared their report on acquiring data on the distribution of financial assistance for Solo Parents of the Angeles City government in a forum organized by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism at B Hotel in Quezon City on Monday, June 19.
Angeles City Social Welfare and Development Office, represented by social worker Ana Lansang, also shared insights on how to request data and other relative information of the Angeles City government offices, particularly its CSWDO. Lansang presented updates on the Solo Parents program of the city government led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr..
The forum dubbed “Accessing Government Information to Inform Advocacy Campaign” is part of PCIJ’s training program to civil society organizations to learn different experiences and improve the FOI structure of different government agencies in the spirit of data gathering and freedom of information.
