ANGELES CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized over PHP1 billion worth of suspected shabu during a search operation on May 26, 2025, in Barangay Pampang. Authorities discovered 155 kilograms of the illegal substance packed in transparent plastic bags inside an abandoned house along Orchid Street in Timog Hills Subdivision.

The operation, conducted around 4 p.m., was a joint effort involving the PDEA, Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Counter-Intelligence Group, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, and the Philippine National Police. The primary target, a Chinese national, remains at large.

PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez stated that this seizure is linked to a previous operation in Angeles City earlier this month, where over 35 kilograms of shabu were confiscated, and a Chinese national along with his Filipina accomplice were arrested.

Authorities are preparing to file charges for possession of illegal drugs under Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, a non-bailable offense. Nerez emphasized that the agency continues to target high-value personalities and large-scale operations as part of the administration’s intensified anti-drug campaign.
