MABALACAT CITY—To maximize the efficiency of an ongoing scheduled power interruption initiated by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), the Pampanga II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PELCO II) conducted multiple technical works on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in this city and parts of Magalang.
In a bid to minimize further disruptions to electricity service, PELCO II aligned several maintenance and upgrade activities with NGCP’s scheduled outage. The coordinated efforts are part of the cooperative’s continuing infrastructure improvement and reliability program.

Among the major works completed were the continuation of construction and upgrading of the existing 13.2kV distribution line along the SCTEX corridor under its Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) project. PELCO II also advanced the construction of a double-circuit distribution line along the MNTC bridge in Sta. Ines.
In addition, technical teams conducted the load transfer from the Sta. Maria Substation to the Mabiga Substation, as well as load balancing of feeder circuits to improve operational efficiency.

Other activities included the de-energization and dismantling of an Automatic Voltage Regulator in Barangay San Francisco, substation maintenance works, and operations and maintenance (O&M) checks.
Tree and vegetation clearing along sub-transmission and distribution lines were also undertaken to prevent unplanned outages and enhance safety in line with industry standards.
PELCO II reiterated its commitment to delivering reliable electric service through timely maintenance and infrastructure upgrades, thanking consumers for their patience and understanding during the necessary outage.
