PhilHealth pays ₱1.05B in claims to Pampanga hospitals

Vice Governor Lilia Pineda thanks the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation for its newly released 95 percent increase in benefits this year to sustain the No Balance Billing policy in government hospitals, and decrease the out-of-pocket expenses of patients in the private hospitals. (PhilHealth Region 3)

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has paid about P1.05 billion benefit claims to a total of 11 district hospitals in the province of Pampanga.  

The amount covers health care services provided to members from January to December 2024, and will be used to support the non-medical and medical professionals in delivering excellent health care services to all patients who are PhilHealth members and dependents.

Vice Governor Lilia Pineda thanked PhilHealth for meeting the target of P1 billion collections on the health care services provided by the district hospitals. 

“Our hospitals were compliant to the zero-billing policy where admitted patients (PhilHealth members) availed of health care services needed without out-of-pocket payment,” she cited. 

Pineda also lauded the agency on the newly released 95 percent increase in PhilHealth benefits this year, saying this will sustain the No Balance Billing policy in government hospitals, and will decrease the out-of-pocket expenses of patients in the private hospitals.

The payee hospitals include the Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital in Guagua, Domingo B. Flores District Hospital in Macabebe, Dr. Andres J. Luciano District Hospital in Magalang, Dr. Emigdio C. Cruz Sr. Memorial Hospital in Arayat, and Escolastica Romero District Hospital in Lubao.

Also, Jose Songco Lapid District Hospital in Porac, Mabalacat District Hospital, Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital (Annex Specialty Hospital) in the City of San Fernando, Romana Pangan District Hospital in Floridablanca, and San Luis District Hospital. 

In a statement, PhilHealth assured that it is committed to the continuous expansion and improvement of benefits for all Filipinos. 

The state-owned firm provides direct assistance and coordination with the government and private health care facilities to continuously deliver services to the public. 

Patients who are not yet registered in PhilHealth can register or update their records in the hospitals where they are currently admitted or confined so that they can immediately use their benefits. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA Region 3, Pampanga)
