Philippine Sports Training Center (PSTC) will soon rise in Bagac, Bataan.
This after the provincial government turned over about 250,000 square meters of land to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) during Tuesday’s Ceremonial Signing of Deed of Donation.
“Bataan will become a sports city and it will inspire the out of school youth as it will provide a new home to national athletes as they give pride and honor to the country,” PSC Chairperson William Ramirez said.
In his message, Bataan 2nd District Representative Jose Enrique Garcia III said PSTC aims to help in the sports development of the country to have better chances of winning medals in the Olympics and other international competitions.
“We are glad that PSC chose Bataan to be the home of PSTC and we will do our best to be a good host to our athletes,” the legislator added.
For his part, Governor Albert Garcia said the construction of PSTC not only helps future athletes but it will also promote healthy lifestyle leading to longer life expectancy.
PhP3.5 billion was initially earmarked for the facility and will be completed by December 2025.
President Duterte signed into law Republic Act 11214 which gave birth to PSTC.
