PhilSys Registration Center opens in Bataan

BALANGA CITY – Bataan Governor Abet Garcia and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial officer-in-charge and Supervising Statistical Specialist Francisco Corpuz formally opened the Bataan Fixed Registration Center for the Philippine Identification System or PhilSys, Monday morning, May 3.

The newly-opened registration center is located at the second floor of The Bunker, the new Bataan Capitol building.

“Yung identification at information natin ay magpapabilis ng mga serbisyo at transaksyon natin lalung-lalo na po sa Pamahalaan,” Governor Garcia said  highlighting their aim to register at least 600,000 Bataeños to ease public service and avoid duplication of assistance from the government.

According to PSA, in just one hour, they can cater to at least 20 clients for the step 2 of the registration process which is the fingerprinting, iris scanning, and photographs.

They also added that to maintain safety due to the threat of the coronavirus, setting an appointment for registration is still required in every transaction .

For the first two weeks, government employees of the Provincial Government will be prioritized.

Registration Center at the Bunker is operational from 7:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday but to give way for the weekly disinfection of The Bunker offices, they are operational from 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon every Wednesday.

At present, the 11 municipalities and a component city in Bataan has their respective registration sites which started last January 2021 catering the first step of the process which is the collection of demographic information.
