PHINMA subsidiary launches new insulated panel plant in Pampanga

A unit of PHINMA Corporation (“PHINMA”) has broken ground on a multimillion-peso manufacturing plant that will produce insulated panels in a bid to bolster the country’s food security and support Philippine agriculture amid the intensifying climate crisis.

Union Insulated Panel Corporation (“UIPC” or “Union Insulated Panels”), a company part of the PHINMA Construction Materials Group (“PHINMA CMG”), held Wednesday the groundbreaking ceremony for the new state-of-the-art facility in Porac, Pampanga.

With a yearly production capacity of one million square meters of panels, the facility will allow UPIC to better serve the market with top-quality, value-enhancing materials catering to the needs of cold chain facilities and related businesses while enhancing their operations and efficiencies.

UIPC Chief Operating Officer (COO) Danielle del Rosario led the ceremony, where she was also joined by executives such as PHINMA CMG President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eduardo Sahagun and PHINMA Chairman and CEO Ramon del Rosario, Jr. Also present were the following Porac officials: Mayor Jaime Capil, Municipal Councilor Adrian Carreon, and Municipal Engineer Glenn Lansangan.

“Today, we did not just break ground on a new manufacturing facility. We laid the foundation for a future where high-quality insulated panels will redefine the standards of cold storage solutions,” said Ms. del Rosario during the subsequent groundbreaking reception at Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort.

“As we navigate the challenges of food security and climate change, these panels will be at the heart of modern supply chain logistics, ensuring that temperature-sensitive goods are preserved with the utmost efficiency from production to consumption,” she added.

PHINMA CMG Chairman Victor del Rosario called the facility a “prime example” of the group’s forward-thinking approach to the issues of the present day.

“Our products need to change with the times. With global warming, with the needs of our agricultural sector, we deemed fit that insulated panels are the next big thing we want to go into,” he said during the reception.

Mr. Sahagun likewise emphasized that the recently launched insulated panel facility is PHINMA CMG’s response to the country’s climate change and food security issues.

“By improving energy efficiency and providing better storage solutions, the insulated panels produced by this new plant will help us better fulfill our mission of making lives better—from every farmer who toils under the scorching sun to plant the crops that we eat, to every Filipino who buys this produce to sustain and nourish his family,” Mr. Sahagun noted.

Meanwhile, Mr. del Rosario, Jr. congratulated UIPC and PHINMA CMG for providing business solutions to the aforementioned issues, thereby helping improve the lives of Filipinos on both a larger and more direct scale.

“For over six and a half decades, PHINMA has responded to the needs of our society and our country by providing communities the essentials to a dignified life, proving that business can indeed be a force for good. As we move closer to our 70th year, we will continue to expand and invest in sectors and industries that contribute to the economy and to nation-building,” he said.

Established in 2022 under the 60-year-old Union Galvasteel Corporation, a trusted name in steel and roofing solutions, UIPC supplies and installs premium insulated panels for the roofing, walling, and cladding needs of various temperature-controlled facilities such as cold storages, blast freezers, and warehouses across the food, agricultural, and industrial sectors.

Union Insulated Panels provide savings through improved energy efficiency, reduced construction time, long-lasting moisture resistance, noise reduction, and superior fire protection. Furthermore, the Team adopts an advisory approach to understanding the unique requirements of customers in order to come up with design and building proposals for customized projects.
