Photo exhibit to highlight Sierra Madre’s importance

The Central Luzon Media-Citizen Council (CLMCC) and the Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) are launching a photo exhibit and competition to raise awareness about the need to protect the Sierra Madre mountain range. The event, titled “Save Sierra Madre! Save Lives! Save the Future!”, invites photojournalists, professionals, and amateur photographers to capture images that showcase the mountain range’s crucial role in disaster prevention and environmental conservation.

Participants can submit their entries from July 16 to 30, 2025, after the shooting period, which runs from March 1 to June 30, 2025. The competition is open to those using DSLR and manual cameras, ensuring high-quality images that highlight the beauty and vulnerability of Sierra Madre. Winning entries will be awarded during the National Press Freedom Day celebration on August 30, 2025.

Cash prizes await top photographers, with the first-place winner receiving P75,000, the second-place winner getting P50,000, and the third-place recipient taking home P25,000. All winners will also receive trophies in recognition of their contributions to environmental advocacy through visual storytelling.

Organizers are calling on journalists, photographers, and environmental advocates to take part in the initiative. They also encourage the public to follow updates on the official Facebook pages of CLMCC and CLMA for competition details and announcements.

For inquiries, interested participants can reach out to CLMCC president Carmela Reyes-Estrope at 09176352521.
